Hi, I’m Kathryn, founder of Crosby College Coaching. As an independent guidance counselor who is also a mom of two college-bound teens, I am well aware of the obstacles and stresses facing busy families during this important time. I’ve lived it myself!
The key is to work smarter—not harder—on college applications. My goal is to honor the short, special time that high school is in your family’s life, help you stay present and positive, and make the important transition to college as smooth and successful as possible.
There are over 4,000 college options in the US alone, so trust me when I say there are no “perfect fit” schools—but there are a lot of “best fits” for your student. My job is to get to know YOUR student, their strengths and interests, and together with some self-reflection and guidance, work with you as a team to make an intelligent, balanced list of best-fit colleges. From there, I help your student craft powerful, effective applications and essays for the colleges on their list. I rely heavily on my education at the University of Pennsylvania in Positive Psychology and my studies at Cal Berkeley in College Counseling to bring together the components of this process with a super-customized approach for each student. I rely on my business education and corporate marketing experience to help students craft their "elevator pitch." An "elevator pitch" is what admissions readers will remember after they very quickly read an application. An "elevator pitch" is an overarching statement, or theme, of what an applicant has presented in their application across all components.
To find out if we’ll make a good college planning team, I offer complimentary 15-minute meetings. You can schedule your initial consultation using the contact link below.
